I had a commission to do a painting of Hannover and I couldn’t find any reference in the usual sources.

So, I wrote to the mayor of Hannover and in no time received an email from the director of the Historic Museum. He said that the mayor had just given him my email and he sent some wonderful images of old Hannover which I was able to use.

So now I start my investigation by writing to the mayor of the city!
